भागवत - भक्तिः

तावद्भयं द्रविणगेहसुहृन्निमित्तं
    शोकः स्पृहा परिभवो विपुलश्च लोभः ।
तावन्ममेत्यसदवग्रह आर्तिमूलं
    यावन्न तेंऽघ्रिमभयं प्रवृणीत लोकः ॥

tAvadbhayam draviNagehasuhRunnimittam
    shokaH spRuhA paribhavo vipulashcha lobhaH ।
tAvat mameti asat avagraha ArtimUlam
    yAvanna te anghrimabhayam pravRuNIta lokaH ॥

Until the day people don't believe fearlessly in God and worship him, they will suffer in the clutches of 'attachment' towards wealth, house, relatives and friends which is the root cause of all misery like fear, grief, greed, humiliation, greed and desire.
