सुभाषितरत्नतेभाण्डागार - सुमेरुरपि हीयते

अर्थानामर्जनं कार्यं वर्धनं रक्षणं तथा ।
भक्ष्यमाणो निरादायः सुमेरुरपि हीयते ॥

bhakShyamANo nirAdAyaH sumerurapi hIyate ॥

Wealth must be earned, grown, protected. If one only consumes wealth without earning, then even the Mt Sumeru (mountain of gold) will not be enough.
