शिशुपालवध - वाग्मि

अनिर्लोडितकार्यस्य वाग्जलं वाग्मिनो वृथा ।
निमित्तादपराद्धेषोर्धानुष्कस्येव वल्गितम् ॥

nimittAdaparAddheShoH dhAnuShkasya eva valgitam ॥

When a job is not done after fully understanding it, it is going to fail. No amount of flowery words is going to make up for lack of preparation. An arrow that leaves the bow can not be made to hit the target by the words of the archer.
