त्यजेत् कुलार्थे पुरुषं ग्रामस्यार्थे कुलं त्यजेत् ।
ग्रामं जनपदस्यार्थे आत्मार्थे पृथिवीं त्यजेत् ॥

grAmam janapadasyArthe AtmArthe pRuthivIm tyajet ॥

One must disown a person to save a family. One family can be sacrificed to save a village. A village has to be abandoned to save a state. But if one needs to save his soul, he must abandon the entire world.

न जीवनाशोऽस्ति हि देहभेदे
    मिथ्यैतदाहुर्म्रियते किलेति ।
जीवस्तु देहांतरितः प्रयाति
    दशार्धतैवास्य शरीरभेदः ॥

na jIva nAshaH asti hi dehabhede
     mithya etad AhuH mriyate kileti ।
jIvastu dehAntaritaH prayAti
    dashArdhataivAsya sharIrabhedaH ॥

When the soul changes the body, there is no loss of life. One must not lie that there is death. When the soul changes form, the body unites with the five forces of nature.
