महाभारत - स्त्री - एकः

न जानपदिकं दुःखमेकः शोचितुमर्हति ।
अप्यभावेन युज्येत तच्चास्य निवर्तते ॥

na jAnapadikaM duHkham ekaH shochitum arhati ।
apyabhAvena yujyeta tat cha asya na nivartate ॥

When there is any danger or trouble for the entire country, it is not wise (not possible) to think and find a solution alone. Even if one person gave all he has to the solve it, it will not be enough.

अशोचयन् प्रतिकुर्वीत यदि पश्येत् पराक्रमम् ।
भैषज्यमेतद्दुःखस्य यदेतन्नानुचिंतयेत्॥

ashochayan prati kurvIta yadi pashyet parAkramam ।
bhaiShajyam etad duHkhasya yad etat nAnuchintayet ॥

If you are courageous, you must attack the problems head on. Not thinking too much about it is the medicine for unhappiness.

संसारेष्वनुभूतानि कस्य ते कस्य वा वयम् ॥

saMsAreShu anubhUtAni kasya te kasya vA vayam ॥

There were thousands of fathers and mothers, hundreds of children and wives. All of them came and went into this world before us. How is any one related to another? Should any one be attached to any one else?

प्रज्ञया मानसं दुःखं हन्याच्छारीरमौषधैः ।
एतद्विज्ञानसामर्थ्यं न बालैः समतामियात् ॥

Just like taking medicine eases pain in the body, knowledge eases the pain in the mind. Such is the power of knowledge. Without that, we are all like kids who can not tell what is troubling them.
