गेहाधीशः सावधानश्चेत् चोरा न विशन्तिहि ।
अन्तः सौजन्यचोरोऽसद्विचारो न विशेत्तदा ॥

antaH saujanya choro asadvichAro na vishet tadA ॥

If the head of the family is careful, thieves will not be able to get into the house. This applies to thieves who rob the family of their virtuous ways by corrupting their thought with rogue ideas.

That which is inherently beautiful does not expect to be polished by customs and propriety. A pearl does not need scrubbing against a stone to make it shine.

स्त्रीभृत्यान् दानमानाभ्यां दाक्षिण्येनेतरं जनम् ॥

Friends and relatives should be won over by righteous conduct. Women and servants by gifts and respect. Propriety should used to win over the rest of the people.
