भागवत - भगवानेक एवैष

भगवानेक एवैष सर्व क्षेत्रेष्ववस्थितः ।
अमुष्य दुर्भगत्वं वा क्लेशो वा कर्मभिः कुतः ॥

- भागवत

bhagavAn eka eva eSha sarva kShetreShu avasthitaH ।
amuShya durbhatvam vA klesho vA karmabhiH kutaH ॥

- bhAgavata

There is only one God. He is present every where and inside each being - living or non-living. That being so, how can he ever have misery, misfortune o any form of trouble. We perceive these feelings because we look at ourselves in isolation and miss the big picture.

भजगोविंद स्तोत्र - भगवद्गीता किंचिदधीता

भगवद्गीता किंचिदधीता
    गंगाजलवकणिका पीता ।
सकृदपि यस्य मुरारिसमर्चा
    कुरुते तस्य यमोऽपि न चर्चाम् ॥

bhagavadgIta kinchidadhItA
    gangAjalavakaNikA pItA ।
sakRudapi yasya murArisamarchA
    kurute tasya yamo api na charchAm ॥

Even if you read the Bhagavadgita even a little, drink a little water from Ganga, worshiped Vishnu a little - Yama (God of death) will not think about you.

To be born again, to die again, to sleep once again in the womb of the mother - this is the rule of the world. There is lot of misery in this world. Oh Murari, please release me from this cycle.

न स्मरसि त्वमात्मानम्

पथि धावन्निह पतितो रोदिष्यंबाकरावलंबाय ।
पतितोद्धारणसमये किं न स्मरसि त्वमात्मानम् ॥

pathi dhAvann iha patito rodiShya ambAkarAvalambAya ।
patita uddhAraNa samaye kim na smarasi tvam AtmAnam ॥

Oh! Krishna, you are playing the role of a small kid who has fallen down while running and is crying to get mother's attention. You want her to come and help you get up. Do you not remember your own plight when your devotees cry for help when they are stuck in this world?

भगवद्गीता - प्रयतात्मनः

पत्रं पुष्पं फलं तोयं यो मे भक्त्या प्रयच्छति ।
तदहं भक्त्युपहृतमश्नामि प्रयतात्मनः ॥

patram pushpam phalam tOyam yO mE bhakthyA prayacchati ।
tadaham bhaktyupahRutam ashnAmi prayatAtmanaH ॥

If you offer me anything with pure earnest devotion, I shall accept. It may be leaves, flowers, fruits or water. (as told by Lord Krishna)

नृणां जन्मसहस्रेण भक्तौ प्रीतिर्हि जायते ।
कलौ भक्तिः कलौ भक्तिः भक्त्या कृष्णः पुरः स्थितः ॥

nRuNAm janma sahasreNa bhaktau prItiH hi jAyate ।
kalau bhakthiH kalau bhakthiH bhakthyA KrishnaH puraH sthitaH ॥

Oh! King, after thousands of births will one get to understand the true meaning of devotion towards God. Devotion alone is the means to please him in the epoch of Kali. Only through devotion can one see Krishna standing in front of them.

नृणां निःश्रेयसार्थाय व्यक्तिर्भगवतो नृप ।
अव्ययस्याप्रमेयस्य निर्गुणस्य गुणात्मनः ॥

nRuNAm niHshreyasArthAya vyaktiH bhagavato nRupa ।
avyayasya aprameyasya nirguNasya guNAtmanaH ॥

A king should be working selflessly only with the best interest of the subjects in his mind. He has to behave as if people can see indestructible, immeasurable, perfect (without any bad qualities) God through him.
