प्रतिज्ञायौगंधरायण - यत्नाः

काष्ठादग्निर्जायते मथ्यमानात्
    भूमिस्तोयं खन्यमाना ददाति ।
सोत्साहानां नास्त्यसाध्यं नराणां
    मार्गारब्धाः सर्वयत्नाः फलंति ॥

- प्रतिज्ञायौगंधरायण

kAShThAt agniH jAyate mathyamAnAt
    bhUmiH toyam khanyamAnA dadAti ।
sotsAhAnAM nAsti asAdhyam narANAm
    mArgarabdhAH sarvayatnAH phalanti ॥

Fire can be made from just twigs and nothing else by rubbing together. If one digs the earth with effort, he will get water. If a person has enough enthusiasm, nothing is impossible. When efforts are put in the right direction, then success is guaranteed.

कन्यायाः वरसंपत्तिः पितुः प्रायः प्रयत्नतः ।
भाग्येषु शेषमायत्तं दृष्टपूर्वं न चान्यथा ॥

kanyAyAH varasaMpattiH pituH prAyaH prayatnataH ।
bhAgyeShu sheSham Ayattam dRuShTapUrvam na chAnyathA ॥
