उत्तररामचरित - साधु

प्रियुप्राया वृत्तिः विनयमधुरो वाचि नियमः
    प्रकृत्या कल्याणी मतिरनवगीतः परिचयः ।
पुरो वा पश्चाद्वा तदिदमविपर्यासितरसं
    रहस्यं साधूनामनुपधि विशुद्धं विजयते ॥

priyaprAyA vRuttiH vinaya madhuro vAchi niyamaH
    prakRutyA kalyANI matiH anavagItaH parichayaH ।
puro vA pashcAd vA tadidam aviparyAsitarasam
    rahasyam sAdhUnAm anupadhi vishuddham vijayate ॥

- uttararAmacharita

Virtuous people alway behave pleasantly. Their words are always humble and sweet. By nature they do good. Once they become friends, the friendship never wanes. Their behaviour today is as it was before (under changing circumstances). Righteousness is the secret of their good life.

उत्तररामचरित - क्लिष्टो जनः किल

क्लिष्टो जनः किल जनैरनुरंजनीयः
    तन्नो यदुक्तमशुभं च न तत् क्षमं ते ।
नैसर्गिकी सुरभिणः कुसुमस्य सिद्धा
     मूर्ध्नि स्थितिर्न चरणैरवताडनानि ॥

kliShTo janaH kila janaiH anuranjanIyaH
    tanno yaduktam ashubham cha na tat kShamam te ।
naisargikI surabhiNaH kusumasya siddhA
    mUrdhni sthitirna charaNaiH avatADanAni ॥

- uttararAmacharita

People should always say good things to others who are in trouble. As much as possible they must reduce their trouble. So, there is no forgiveness for the harsh words that I have uttered and you don't deserve it. A naturally fragrant flower has to placed on the head and not beaten up on by foot. (As told by Rama to Sita)

उत्तररामचरित - प्राज्ञजडयोः भेदः

वितरति गुरुः प्राज्ञे विद्यां यथैव तथा जडे
    न तु खलु तयोर्ज्ञाने शक्तिं करोत्यपहन्ति वा ।
भवति हि पुनर्भूयान् भेदः फलं प्रति तद्यथा
    प्रभवति शुचिर्बिंबग्राहे मणिर्न मृदादयः ॥

vitarati guruH prAjne vidyAM yathaiva tathA jaDe
    na tu khalu tayoH jnAne shakti karoti apahanti vA ।
bhavati hi punaH bhUyAn bhedaH phalaM prati tad yathA
    prabhavati shuchiH bimbagrAhe mRut AdayaH ॥

A teacher teaches his lessons to a intelligent student just like he does to a dull one. The lessons themselves do not have the ability to make or break one's fortune. However we see a big difference in the way the same lessons impact either students. It is the same difference we see in the ability to reflect radiance between a gem (crystal) and mud.

सर्वथा व्यवहर्तव्यं कुतोह्यवचनीयता |
यथा स्त्रीणां तथा वाचां साधुत्वे दुर्जनो जनः ||

How can one be silent in the face of adversary? One has to talk (and defend himself). When it is the matter of some one accusing you of something, or hurting the ladies - inaction is not an option. One is called noble only when wickedness is paid back in the same coin.
