मुकुंदमाला - अविस्मृतिस्त्वच्चरणारविंदे

मुकुंद मूर्ध्ना प्रणिपत्य याचे
    भवंतमेकांतमियंतमर्थम् ।
अविस्मृतिस्त्वच्चरणारविंदे
    भवे भवे मेSस्तु भवत्प्रसादात् ॥

mukunda mUrdhnA praNipatya yAche
    bhavantam ekAntamiyantamartham।
avismRutiH tvat caraNAravinde
    bhave bhave me astu bhavat prasAdAt ॥

Oh Mukunda! I am prostrating before you humbly and asking for just one important wish. Bless me so that I will never forget the lotus feet of yours in all my future births.

शिवानंदलहरी - मा गच्छ त्वमितस्ततो

मा गच्छ त्वमितस्ततो गिरिश भो मय्येव वासं कुरु
    स्वामिन्नादिकिरात मामकमनःकांतारसीमांतरे ।
वर्तंते बहुशो मृगा मदजुषो मात्सर्यमोहादयः
    तान्हत्वा मृगयाविनोदरुचितालाभं च संप्राप्स्यसि ॥

mA gaccha tvamitaH tato girisha bho mayyeva vAsam kuru
    svAminnAdikirAta mAmakAmanaH kAntArasImAntare ।
vartante bahusho mRugA madajuSho mAtsaryamohAdayaH
    tAn hatvA mRugayA vinodarucitAlAbham ca samprApsyasi ॥

Oh Lord Shiva! Don't go any where else. Please stay with me inside my mind always. You are the first hunter-god. The forest of mind is filled with wild animals running amok - like greed, lust, jealousy. You will have good time hunting them down.

भागवत - मा कंचन शुचो

मा कंचन शुचो राजन् यदीश्वरवशं जगत् ।
लोकाः सपाला यस्येमे वहंति बलिमीशितुः ।
स संयुनक्ति भूतानि स एव वियुनक्ति च ।

mA kancana shuco rAjan yadIshvaravasham jagat ।
lokAH sapAlA yaseme vahanti balimIshituH ।
sa samyunakti bhUtAni sa eva viyunakti ca ।

- bhAgavata

Oh King! you are not the owner of this world. It is God who owns all world. So you don't have to feel sad for any loss. It is God who brings beings together and separates them. People may worship many other Gods or leaders. But all those salutations finally end up with the Creator himself.

समयोचित पलिका - गुरु भक्ति

मंत्रे तीर्थे द्विजे दैवे दैवज्ञे भेषजे गुरौ ।
यादृशीं भावनां कुर्यात् सिद्धिर्भवति तादृशी ॥

- समयोचित पद्यमालिका - गुरु भक्ति

mantre tIrthe dvije daive daivajne bheShaje gurau ।
yAdRushIm bhAvanAm kuryAt siddhirbhavati tAdRuShI ॥

- samayochitapadyamAlikA

Hymns, holy places, a brahmin, God, one who has realized God, Doctor and teacher. If you treat them well, you will benefit. If you treat them badly, you will suffer. What happens to you depends on how you treat them.

वैराग्य शतक - भक्तिस्तरुणेंदुशेखरे

महेश्वरे वा जगतामधीश्वरे
     जनार्दने वा जगदंतरात्मनि ।
न वस्तुभेद प्रतिपत्तिरस्ति मे
     तथापि भक्तिस्तरुणेंदुशेखरे ॥

- वैराग्य शतक

maheshvare vA jagatAmadhishvare
     janArdane vA jagat antarAtmani ।
na vastu bheda pratipattirasti me
    tathApi bhaktiH taruNa indu shekhare ॥

- vairAgya shataka

Lord Shiva, who is the owner of this world, or Lord Vishnu who is in every one's conscience - I do not differentiate between them. Both are equal to me. But when it comes to worshiping, I worship the God with young moon on his head (Shiva). A mendicant would definitely identify with Shiva because Lord Shiva himself is said to have led a very ascetic life.

विश्वगुणादर्श - भगवद्भक्तिः

भूयो दोषैरपि परिवृतः पूरुषः सात्विकानां
     प्रायः पूज्यो भवति भगवद्भक्तिमासाद्य हृद्याम् ।
आक्रांतापि प्रबलभुजगैः कंटकैरप्यनल्पैः
    किं नादृत्या सुरभिकुसुमा केतकी भाग्यभाजाम् ॥

- विश्वगुणादर्श

bhUyo doShairapi parivRutaH pUruShaH sAtvikAnAm
     prAyaH pUjyo bhavati bhagavad bhaktim AsAdya hRudyAm ।
AkrAntApi prabala bhujagaiH kanTakaiH api analpaiH
    kim nAdRutyaa surabhikusumA ketakI bhAgyabhAjAm ॥

- vishva guNAdarsha

A man may have many defects. But if he has pure devotion towards God in his heart, then even he will be revered and respected by other people. The ketaki plant is considered very sacred even when it is surrounded by poisonous snakes and big thorns.

- Vishvagunadarsha

अप्पय्य दीक्षितस्य वैराग्य शतक - शरणं चरणं महेशस्य

भव्यमभव्यं वा नः प्रलिखतु वेधाः सुदुर्मेधाः ।
सव्यमसव्यं वा नः शरणं चरणं महेशस्य ॥

- अप्पय्य दीक्षितस्य वैराग्य शतक

bhavyam abhavyam vA naH pralikhatu vedhAH sudurmedhAH ।
savyam asavyam vA naH sharaNam charaNam maheshasya ॥

- appayya dIkShitasya vairAgya shataka

Let the creator write prosperity or misery in my fate. I would not bother.Either way I will bow down to the left or the right foot of the Lord. It does not matter whether it is misery or prosperity when the destination is the Lord himself.
