People want to enjoy the fruits of good deeds, but don't want to perform good deeds. They don't want to be punished due to their sins, but continue committing those sins even after knowing that it is a sin.

Wow, this is so true! Reading this gives me a feeling that Mahabharata is a treasury of subhashitas, especially in the Srimad-Bhagavad Gita. :)
