समयोचितपद्यरत्नमालिका - पुमान् नारी

घृतकुंभसमा नारी तप्तांगारसमः पुमान् ।
तस्माद्घृतं च वह्निं च नैकत्र स्थापयेद् बुधः ॥

ghRutakumbha samaa nArI tapta angAra samaH pumAn ।
tasmAt ghRutam cha na ekatra sthApayed budhaH ॥

A woman is like a pot of ghee and man is like a ball of fire. If they come in contact, it will create havoc. Hence wise people will not keep them together in the same place.

सुभाषितरत्नभाण्डागार - परमानन्दः

अविदितपरमानन्दो वदति जनो विषयमेव रमणीयम् ।
तिलतैलमेव मृष्टं येन न दृष्टं घृतं क्वापि ॥

avidata paramAnando vadati jano viShayameva ramaNIyam ।
tila tailameva mRuShTam yena na dRuShTam ghRutam kvapi ॥

Those who have not experienced the unlimited supreme happiness will always be of the opinion that worldly pleasures give them more happiness. It is like the case of people who have never tasted ghee and hence consider sesame seed oil to be tasty.
