अभिज्ञान शाकुन्तल - परीक्ष्य

अतः परीक्ष्य कर्तव्यं विशेषात्संगतं रहः ।
अज्ञातहृदयेष्वेवं वैरीभवति सौहृदम् ॥

When a man and a woman decide to get married in secrecy, they must be really careful and examine each other thoroughly. If there keep secrets from each other, the love can soon turn to hatred.

पञ्चतंत्र - मित्रभेद - विद्वेषः

न चन्द्रेण न औषध्या न सूर्येण न वह्निना |
साम्नैव विलयं याति विद्वेष्रभवं तमः ||

The darkness caused by hatred can not be overcome by moon (moonlight), nor by the sun, also not by any fire. It can only be dealt with by pacifying patiently.

किरातार्जुनीय - कोप

बलवानपि कोपजन्मनः
    तमसो नाभिभवं रुणद्धि यः |
क्ष्यपक्ष इवैंदवीः कलाः
    सकला हन्ति स शक्तिसंपदः ||

One must destroy the darkness that emanates from anger as early as possible. If unchecked, it will destroy everything. The darks spots on the moon will engulf the entire moon during the waning phase.
