His is a bad friend who does not give good advice to the king. He is a bad king when he does not listen to the good advice. Only when the king and the minister have a very good relationship, does the kingdom prosper.

If a person is very well read and yet not able to conquer the enemies with in his own body - the senses, then he shall get the ill fame as a person who lost all his wealth. Indulging in sensory pleasures will deplete one of all his wealth and underscore the fact that such pleasures are all temporary.

If person does not deal with a crook in crooked manner, he is bound to face defeat. They must be paid back in their own coin. Just like how an arrow most certainly hits (and hurts) that part of the body (how ever small) that is not covered by the armor, such deceitful people search and hurt only those people who are innocent and incapable of deceit themselves.
