This is a verse about when a person can take bath. Not after having food, not in a hurry, not at mid night, not with the clothes on, not in a unknown lake (pond or well).

It is not possible to accomplish great things by people who rely on courage alone, or intellect alone. Prosperity will be attained by those who can exhibit both these traits.

Oh rain-fed-river, you are going to join the mighty river Ganga. Good for you. But we definitely do not like the way you are creating rapids in your little water while Ganga herself is so calm. Empty vessels make more noise.

You must not cross the rope used to tie a calf. (because the calf may be scared and try running away. This may hurt the calf. You may trip over the rope). You must not run when it is raining for obviuous danger of slippery landscapes. One must not see his own reflection in water (deep water. One of the common effects of doing so is 'vertigo').

A person who is interested in accumulating wealth will not find it hard to travel thousands of miles powered by greed. For a person who is satisfied with what he has, even money at hand will not interest him.

In the age of Kali (present time), his evil influence will burn everything like a wild fire. There are no people who are connected with the universe (God), no one who has accomplished, no one who has the knowledge, no one who is virtuous - no such people left. All the necessary infrastructure enabling people to achieve greatness is also burnt to ashes.
