सुभाषितसुधानिधि - साधु खल

स्वल्पापि साधुसंपद् भोज्य
    महतां न पृथ्व्यपि खलश्रीः ।
सारसमेव पयस्तृषमपनयति
    न यदसां पत्युः ॥

svalpa api sAdhu sampad bhojya
    mahatAm na pRuthvi api khalashrIH ।
sArasameva payaH tRuSham apanayati
    na yadasAm patyuH ॥

- subhAShitasudhAnidhi

Even if the virtuous people have very less wealth, they deserve much more. A wicked person on the other hand may own the entire earth, but they don't deserve it. Just like water from a small pond can quench thirst but the whole ocean cannot.
