A wise man will avoid these: a village without a person who understands God (to approach when troubled), a kings court that does not have wise advisors, face of someone who has not studied scriptures, a kingdom that does not have any king, a wife who does not follow Dharma and a poem that is not a story of God (in someway or other) and a teacher who does not teach well.

One must never answer without being asked a question. One must never answer when the question is not posed with correct intentions (illegal, arrogance, etc..). Even after knowing everything, a wise man must act stupid in this world.

kim nu me syAt idam kRutvA kim nu me syAt akurvataH ।
iti sinchitya manasA prAjnaH kurvIta vA navA ॥

What would happen if I did so? What would happen if I did not do so? A wise man should always think on these lines and finally "do" or "not do". A perfect answer to the eternal question "To do or not to do?"

A wise man keep these incidents private - having lost money, having enmity, having a rogue in the household, being cheated and being humiliated.

There are many a fools in this world. But there are very few people who can be called wise. Only those who can keep their minds from wavering in spite of attacks from the foolish are the only real wise people.

A wise man knows how to behave in a gathering. He knows well that he must not ridicule/talk harshly to any one (even when they are his opponents). Some times, even the truth must not be told. Especially when it is sure to hurt some one.
