मनु स्मृति - अतिथि

अप्रणोद्योऽतिथिः सायं सूर्योढो गृहमेधिना |
काले प्राप्तस्त्वकाले वा नास्यानश्नन् गृहे वसेत् ||

When a guest arrives in the evening, one must insist they spend the night in their house. When a guest arrives during lunch (dinner) time or any odd time, he must be served food.

प्रतिमा नाटक - भर्तृनाथा हि नार्यः

अनुचरति शशांकं राहुदोषेऽपि तारा
    पतति च वनवृक्षे याति भूमि लता च |
त्यजति न च करेणुः पंकलग्नं गजेन्द्रं
    व्रजतु चरतु धर्मं भर्तृनाथा हि नार्यः ||

The stars follow the moon even when Rahu engulfs him (eclipse). When a tree falls down in a forest, the creepers fall along with it. When the tusker gets its foot entangled with lotus plants, the female elephants do not abandon it. It is in the nature of a virtuous wife to follow her husband in glory or misery alike.

स्मयोचित पद्यमालिका - धर्मसंग्रहः

अनित्यानि शरीराणि विभवो नैव शाश्वतः |
नित्यं संनिहितो मृत्युः कर्तव्यो धर्मसंग्रहः ||

This body does not last for ever. Wealth is temporary. Death is approaching you every day. Hence get involved in following Dharma as if there is no tomorrow. Do not put off noble duties to tomorrow

- Samyochitapadyamalika

चतुर्वर्गसंग्रह - श्रुतवर्जितो यः

अन्धः स एव श्रुतवर्जितो यः
    शठः स एवार्थिनिरर्थको यः |
मृतः स एवास्ति यशो न यस्य
    धर्मे न धीर्यस्य स एव शोच्यः ||

- चतुर्वर्गसंग्रह

He who gives up education is blind. He is a cheater who does not give alms to a beggar. He is dead who has not done enough good deeds in his life to give him fame. He is pitiable who does not spare a thought about Dharma (moral code of life).

- Chaturvargasangraha

सुभाषितसुधानिधि - न ददाति स वित्तलेशमपि

अतिसाहसमतिदुष्करमत्याश्चर्यं च दानमर्थानाम् |
यो हि ददाति शरीरं न ददाति स वित्तलेशमपि ||

It is a very surprising, difficult and huge deal to see people donating money. It is so unnatural. People are rather to give up their body than part with a little money.

- Subhashitasudhanidhi

मनुस्मृति - न वैरं कुर्वीत केनचित्

अतिवादांस्तितिक्षेत नावमन्येत कंचन |
न चेमं देहमाश्रित्य वैरं कुर्वीत केनचित् ||

- मनुस्मॄति

One must be patient even when some one provokes you with harsh words. One must never humiliate any one. There is no reason why one must beget enmity with any one for the sake of this impermanent body.

मनुस्मॄति - द्वितीयं न समाचरेत्

अज्ञानाद्यदि वा ज्ञानात्कृत्वा कर्म विगर्हितम् |
तस्माद्विमुक्तिमिन्विच्छन् द्वितीयं न समाचरेत् ||

One may have committed a sin by chance or intentionally. If he wants redemption from it, then he must never repeat it.
