तदश्मसारं हृदयं बतेदं
    यद्गृह्यमाणैर्हरिनामधेयैः ।
न विक्रियेताथ यदा विकारो
    नेत्रे जलं गात्ररुहेषु हर्षः ॥

जीर्णा तरिः


जीर्णा तरिः सरिदियं च गभीरनीरा
    नक्राकुला वहति वायुरतिप्रचंडः ।
तार्या स्त्रियश्च शिशवश्च तथैव वृद्धाः
    तत्कर्णधारभुजयोर्बलमाश्रयामः ॥



jIrNA tariH sarit iyam cha gabhIranIrA
    nakrAkulA vahati vAyuH ati prachanDaH ।
tAryA striyaScha shishavashcha, tathaiva vRuddhAH
    tatkarNadhAra bhujayoH balam AshrayAmaH ॥


The boat is broken. The river (of samsaara) is deep. There are dangerous crocodiles in the river and storm is raging. We have to get the women, children and old people across. So, let us rely on the prowess of the boatman (Krishna).

गोपाल इति मत्वा त्वां प्रचुरक्षीरवांछया ।
श्रितो मातुः स्तनक्षीरमपि लब्धुं न शक्नुयाम् ॥



gopAla iti matvA tvAm prachura kShIra vAnChayA ।
shrito mAtuH stana kShIram api labdhum na shaknuyAm ॥


I thought you are a cowherd and came to your refuge looking forward to drink as much milk as I want. But your acquaintance has robbed me of the chance to drink milk from my own mother again. (by giving salvation and hence excused from being born again)
