Money must be used for charity. Speech must be used for truth. Life must be used to uphold Dharma and earn fame. Body must be used for helping others. Worthless things must always be used to create some thing worthwhile.

Generosity is the quality that shines the brightest among all other qualities. But if knowledge and generosity get together, then it is like adding perfume to gold.

A generous person gives away his stuff to the needy. In the process, his hand is on top and those of the needy are down. So is the social status of the generous and needy.

Even if a generous person is poor, he is to be treated with respect. A miser deserves no respect even if he is rich and prosperous. People like water from a small well but not from the mighty ocean.

Wealth must be handled in only 2 ways - spend it or donate it. One must never accumulate it. Look at what happens to bees that accumulate honey. Someone else is going to loot it.

Punishment is what helps the king rule his subjects justly. It protects all the subjects (from miscreants). It protects even those who are sleeping (from thieves). Hence the wise men think that punishment is an integral part of Dharma (moral code of life)
