यः पठति लिखति पश्यति परिपृच्छति पण्डितानुपाश्रयति ।

धर्माख्याने श्मशाने च रोगिणां या मतिर्भवेत् ।
सा सर्वदैव तिष्ठेच्छेत् को न मुच्येत बंधनात् ॥

गतेऽपि वयसि ग्राह्या विद्या सर्वात्मना बुधैः ।
यद्यपि स्यान्न फलदा सुलभा सान्यजन्मनि ॥

Wise men continue to learn from every one and get wiser even at a very old age. It is not a problem if their new wisdom does not give any results immediately. It will at least make it easier in the next birth.

सुभाषितरत्नभाण्डागार - शूरः पण्डितः


युध्यन्ति पशवः सर्वे पठन्ति शुकसारिकाः |
दातुं जानाति यो वित्तं स शूरः स च पण्डितः ||

All animals know to fight. Even birds like parrots can talk. Ability to fight and talk do not make us any better than them. He who has the ability to give away money (or any other wealth, like knowledge) should alone be called as brave or wise.
